Is it safe to travel to Sweden today ? |

My friend, Pete, and I had made plans about driving by car down to Gothenburg for the weekend. But as Friday came close I had a bad feeling about going. Should we go? The chart is cast for 08.47 LMT (07.47 GMT), on 17.Nov 1995. |
The question was asked on the day and hour of Venus, which in itself is a fortitude for anyone wanting to have fun, but Scorpio, the sign of Venus' detriment, is on the ascendant. Venus does share the same powers as Scorpio, i.e. they are both cold and moist, but according to this relationship judgement is passed by that which is naturally signified by Mars, who is lord of the Ascendant; and that is a warning of trouble! |
Co-significator of the question, the Moon, was intercepted in Virgo in the 9th house of long distance travel. Her dispositor was combust and in a state of total destruction in Scorpio in the 12th house. The Moon was applying to a square of Venus in Sagittarius through signs of long ascension; we could be expected to have fun but would probably spend ourselves way out of pocket during the weekend. Next Moon applies to the opposition of Saturn. Saturn is in Pisces in the 3rd, and rules the Aquarian cusp of the 3rd house. The 3rd house rules travelling by car, and with significators in opposition and intercepted, there was certainly some impediment we had no power over. |
On these indications Pete and I cancelled our trip. As the day went on Gothenburg was hit by the heaviest snow storm man could remember. Roads were blocked, rail lines closed and on radio and television the public were advised to stay indoors. Saturn intercepted in Pisces in the 3rd house was the weather, and if we had gone we would have spent our weekend trapped in a car cue getting nowhere. Even then, in view of the road conditions, I think we should have counted ourselves fortunate not to have an accident. THE END |
